After buying a new PC and using it for a year or so, you may see the speed and performance of your computer drop significantly. Here is a list of things which cause this drop in performance:

1. Spyware and Adware - Both of these types of software install themselves on your computer when you're installing other programs, or when you're visiting certain websites using deceptive techniques to install themselves on your computer. Spyware runs in the background on your computer without you know it sending out personal information such as which websites you visit, and sometimes even more personal information such as your address and phone number. Adware runs in the background on your computer as well and causes annoying popup windows to appear, and even changes which website your browser goes to when you first open it up.

2. Viruses - Most people are familiar with the concept of computer viruses because they've been around much longer than the spyware and adware mentioned above. Its good that people are familiar with the threat they pose since viruses are more malicious, as they spread themselves to other computers directly from your computer, and are known to permanently damage the settings of your computer and even delete files.

3. Unnecessary Software - Many programs such as AOL, Quicktime, and Real Player like to set themselves up to run in the background on your computer while you're not even using them. Chris knows how to distinguish between the programs that you need and the ones which aren't necessary, and he has the knowledge to remove them so your computer runs faster.

Most of the time only a couple hours are needed to clean your computer of spyware, adware, viruses, and perform various tweaks to get your computer running like it once did when you first bought it.
